The Federal Road Safety Corps is a government agency in Nigeria that is responsible for road safety administration. It was founded in February 1988 and is the major agency in Nigeria for road safety administration and management, operating in all Nigerian states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

Although just last month, in a joint security operation conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), fifteen members of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were arrested for allegedly extorting money from motorists on highways around the country.

FRSC in a special announcement released 12 important items that every vehicle owner/driver is expected to have while driving on the highway.

These items include

  1. Warning Triangle (C-Caution)
  2. Fire extinguisher
  3. Jack
  4. Spare Tyre
  5. First Aid Kit
  6. Wheel Spanner
  7. Water
  8. Hydraulic
  9. Transmission fluid
  10. Torch Light
  11. Spare fan belt
  12. Razor Blade
