The Outlander comes with a 2.5-litre inline-four-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It pairs exclusively with a continuously variable automatic transmission(CVT). Front-wheel-drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.

The new Outlander comes with nicer cabin materials compared to the 2010 model. The 2010 model was made with low-quality plastics. The 2022 model has a higher interior quality, and the design also looks modern.
Other modern contents in the interior are the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a head-up display. There’s only enough head and legroom for people sitting in the first and second rows, but the third row is tight for passengers.
The 2022 Outlander offers either an 8.0 or 9.0-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim. Both units have standard Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. But only the 9.0-inch touchscreen allows users to connect their iPhones wirelessly.
The system features hard buttons, physical knobs for volume and tuning, and charging ports at the bottom of the centre stack. Additional available infotainment features include a 10-speaker Bose audio system, wireless device charging, and access to the subscription-based Mitsubishi Connect app that provides remote services.

The XLS and GT trims have a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 230 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque. Four-cylinder Outlanders come standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the V6-powered XLS and GT use a traditional six-speed automatic. Both have manual shift capability. The 2010 model is available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
