2020 Toyota Avalon for sale – The new 2020 Toyota Avalon is ranked when it comes to comfort, and performance. As you’d expect from a full-size sedan, the Avalon provides a palatial back seat and a generously sized trunk.

The cabin has an upscale look, the design is modern, and many of the materials used are of premium quality. Handling is smooth and forgiving, and hybrid and gas-only powertrains are available. There’s a long list of standard features onboard, including the latest driver-assistance technology.

If fuel economy is a priority, you’ll want to check out the hybrid, which delivers excellent mileage for a large sedan. Keep in mind, though, that if you’re looking for the most affordable option in this segment, this Toyota isn’t it. The Avalon has a steeper base price than most rivals.

The 2020 Avalon comes outfitted with a 9-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, four USB ports, an eight-speaker sound system, HD Radio, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. This setup is user-friendly, thanks to its mix of physical buttons, knobs, and touch-screen controls. The on-screen menus are simple to understand. Other standard features include proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2020 Avalon an overall safety rating of five out of five stars. The Avalon earns a five-star rating in the side crash test and four stars in the frontal crash and rollover tests.

Toyota also plays against type by bringing performance into the picture. The Avalon, with nimble handling and quick steering, is surprisingly up to the challenge of zipping along a curvy road. There’s even a new TRD model this year with a sport-tuned suspension. If you want an uncompromising blend of performance and comfort, consider the top Touring trim. It’s equipped with adaptive dampers that soften the ride or sharpen handling at the press of a button — a rare feature for this type of vehicle.

Redesigned for the 2019 model year, the Avalon carries over into 2020 with minimal changes. The big news is the addition of the TRD trim level. TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development, which is the brand’s performance division. Relative to other Avalon trims, the TRD variant is sportier both in appearance and handling. It comes with upgrades such as a sport-tuned suspension, black-painted side skirts, and red-painted brake calipers.

The 2020 Toyota Avalon is available in XLE, Limited, XSE, TRD, and Touring trims. All of them come with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine (301 horsepower, 267 lb-ft of torque) that sends power to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The XLE trim starts off with features such as LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and simulated leather upholstery. You also get Toyota’s Safety Connect emergency communications, a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa integration, and an eight-speaker audio system. Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of advanced safety features is also included.

Stepping up to the Limited trim adds a sunroof, a head-up display, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory functions, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a built-in navigation system, and a 14-speaker premium JBL audio system.

The sporty XSE trim builds on the XLE’s features with 19-inch wheels, black exterior treatments, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters and microsuede seat inserts.

The new TRD trim takes the sport concept a bit further. It starts with the features from the XSE and adds black-painted aerodynamic elements, upgraded brakes, matte black wheels, a sport exhaust, sportier suspension tuning, and red seat belts and stitching,

The range-topping Touring trim comes complete with all of the Limited and XSE upgrades as well as an adaptive suspension and active noise cancellation. Upholstery is simulated leather with microsuede inserts.

Some of the upper-trim features are available as options on the other trims. Optional on the Limited and the Touring is an Advanced Safety package with a surround-view parking camera system and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.

When it comes to the overall look of the cabin, the current Avalon represents a big step up relative to models from previous generations. A broad waterfall-style centre stack separates the driver and front passenger, and it shows off handsome switchgear and an easy-to-reach touchscreen. The plastics used throughout the cabin are nicely grained, and the back seat provides lots of room for tall passengers to stretch their legs.
