When it comes to maintenance, it can be very expensive, especially if you own a luxury car, but what cars are really cheap to maintain without breaking the back, check out the cheapest Honda cars you can maintain for less than N150,000 a test in Nigeria.

Don’t be shocked by this price; we don’t need to inform you that Honda is one of the most reliable cars you can buy in Nigeria, and they are not only reliable but also well-known for being affordable. When you combine these two features, you get a car that would last you for a very long time without eating into your pockets. There has always been a debate between Honda and Toyota lovers over who sells the best cars, but we can say that Nigerians always have a bias towards Toyota, while most Honda aficionados won’t agree, saying that the Honda is the easiest car to maintain, and with just a little bit of simple DIY, you should be able to keep the car running for years.

Honda is one of the best when it comes to selling cars with the utmost sense of reliability in mind without minding the fact the car is really affordable and, thus, irrespective of the fact that most Honda cars don’t classify as luxury and are for the average man. If you are really on the lookout for cars that you can maintain for less than N150,000, you should take a look at these 4 Hondas.

  • Honda Crosstour

This car might not be popular in Nigeria as it is imported from overseas, and that has probably contributed to the reason why it is quite cheap to maintain. You would expect this small SUV to be more expensive when it comes down to it because the owners of the car rarely mentioned any major issues with it apart from the frequent oil changes. The car was the best when it came to maintenance before it was discontinued in 2015.

But, that shouldn’t stop you from getting it in any way, especially if you decide to get it used, where it would still look brand new. The annual maintenance for this car was said to be N127,000, which would usually cover servicing and other tidbits’ replacement.

  • Honda Odyssey

You would expect this car to have a high maintenance cost, mainly because it is one of the most popular minivans on the automobile market in the world Honda Odyssey. Coming second to the Toyota Sienna and that is, you would expect the maintenance to be quite high, but you would be surprised to see that the maintenance for the car is at N133,000, thus because most owners of these minivans didn’t complain about any major issues apart from the sliding door of the car, which might need replacement after some time of usage, which would probably be at 110,000 miles, but as the issue is easy to fix, it won’t hurt your pocket.

  • Honda Pilot

Everyone knows the Honda Pilot is an effective SUV created by automakers. Thus, a three-row, six-seater couch is one that is meant to house a large family without any means of constraining space. The pilot has now installed independent suspension, which is quite common with luxury cars; this boasts the rider’s experience for a smooth ride. Known for going off on rough roads, these cars can guide you through the toughest Nigerian road to drive, not to mention that the interior quality has improved over the years, giving it an opulent look.

The estimated price for the Honda Pilot as regards maintenance was N157,000. This is due to the fact that most complaints about these SUVs are that the front disc brakes have an issue after some time of usage.

Due to the warped front brake rotors, the Honda SUV may shake when drivers press the brakes. The average mileage at the time this issue occurred was 47,000 miles. The rotors must either be completely changed or machined in order to address this problem. These might cost roughly N30,000 or more to replace.

  • Honda Civic

You would expect this car to be at the top of the list of lost causes we have to our ire because it isn’t as cheap to maintain as others, but mostly due to the fact that it cannot be classified in the same grade as them because they are more expensive in the real sense. Regardless of this fact, the Honda Civic can be said to be the ideal, cheap-to-maintain car you would find.

This is certainly one of the most attractive cars in the aforementioned markets, and we aren’t joking; its only rival is the Toyota Corolla, but when it comes to maintaining a Civic, you don’t break the bank at all.
