The Golf 3 is the third generation of the Golf series made by Volkswagen Group. It’s a small-sized family car with a top speed ranging from 157km/h (98mph) to as high as 250km/h(155mph). Golf 3 is available as the Golf 3 Estate and the Convertible known as Cabrio. Drivers have two drivetrain options to select from; either the front-wheel-drive or the Syncro four-wheel drive. In general, Golf 3 offers great handling and balance to drivers behind the wheels. Production of Golf 3 ended in 1991, hence getting a new one might be a tad difficult.

Volkswagen Golf 4 is another portable family car capable of conveniently conveying four passengers. The Golf 4 was massive in production between 1997 and 2004. It was the best selling car in Europe in 2001 till 2002. Like the Golf 3, it has a front engine; and an available front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive option. The car also boasts of a diverse range of transmission- 4 speed Automatic, 5-speed tiptronic automatic, 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG. The sad news is that production of Golf 4 stopped about 14 years ago; hence getting a brand new one won’t come easy.

Like every other Volkswagen model, the Golf 5 has provided a great driving experience, cool comfort, and reliable safety features. The Golf 5 is an advance from the Golf 4; and of course, it’s the fifth generation of the Golf series produced between 2004-2009.

Golf 5 comes with varying engine and transmission types. Available are the 4-cylinder, 5-cylinder, 6-cylinder petrol and turbocharged direct injection diesel engines. Transmission options available are manual, automatic, liptronic, and direct shift gearbox.

The Golf 6 has an entirely enticing design distinct from the preceding models. The Gold 6’s engine can run on either petrol, diesel or liquefied petroleum gas. As usual, the Golf 6 has a front Engine with drive train options of a front-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive.

Production of Golf 6 began in 2008, and the lasting model standing till date is the Cabriolet. Other Golf 6 models stopped being produced as of 2014.
