As part of its commitment to the well-being of civil servants, the Ekiti State government has authorized the transfer of N102,160,000 to 280 beneficiaries of its car loan scheme as part of its commitment to the welfare of public servants.

Mr Akintunde Oyebode, State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, disclosed this information to journalists in Ado, Ekiti.

Oyebode said the government would continue to find innovative ways of improving public service efficiency to ensure Ekiti State becomes one of the most effective governments in Nigeria.

He noted that the selection of recipients was based on merit in accordance with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s Agenda for good government.

The finance commissioner recalled that the administration of the former governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, disbursed the sums of N634,340,000 and N550,793,250 to 1,915 and 1,945 civil servants in the state for car and housing loans, respectively.

He also stated that teachers and non-teaching staff were not left behind, as N287,330,000 and N428,760,250 were disbursed to 1,084 and 2,512 beneficiaries as car and housing loans, respectively, in addition to the sum of N453,926,000.
