God is Good Motors (commonly known as GIGM) is a Nigerian intercity transport company that offers bus services to various destinations within Nigeria and neighbouring West African countries.

It was founded in 1998 by Edwin Ajaere, a Nigerian entrepreneur who saw the need for safe and reliable transportation options in Nigeria. The company has since grown to become one of the largest intercity transport companies in Nigeria, with a fleet of over 500 buses and more than 2000 employees. God is Good Motors is known for its commitment to safety, comfort, and quality customer service.

GIG Mobility, then God is Good Motors, was founded by the enterprising couple Edwin and Stella Ajaere in 1998 to provide bus services across Nigerian cities. Their son, Chidi Ajaere, took over the administration of the company which led to a reinvention of the business in 2010.

Since becoming GIG Mobility, the company has also seen a number of structural adjustments and has spun off a number of services powered by technology.

In 2019, GIGM expanded outside Nigeria and launched in Ghana with operating terminals in Accra and Kumasi, two of the country’s business enclaves. In February 2020, GIGM’s interface hinted at the launch of an intra-city transport service that would be technology-powered, called Danfo.

The rebranding was part of a broader strategy to position the company as a leading provider of technology-driven mobility solutions in Nigeria and West Africa. To achieve this, GIG Mobility invested in technology and digital infrastructure, including a mobile app, an online booking platform, and other digital tools to make it easier for customers to access its services.

The name change from God is Good Motors to GIG Mobility was also part of a broader effort to modernize the company’s image and appeal to younger, tech-savvy customers. The new name and brand identity were designed to be more dynamic, contemporary, and reflective of the company’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and convenient mobility solutions.

Overall, the rebranding has helped GIG Mobility to position itself as a leading player in the mobility sector in Nigeria and West Africa and has contributed to its continued growth and success.
