Meet the “all new” 2024 Lexus TX which is very clearly a reskinned Toyota Grand Highlander, and yes I quite literally mean reskinned and has been designed specifically for North America. Adding yet ANOTHER SUV to the brand’s lineup and slotting between the RX and the GX… the Grand Highlander. I mean TX, is meant to introduce a more spacious 3rd row SUV to Lexus buyers. The TX will come in TX350 and TX500H powertrains and will offer 6 or 7 passenger seating, a Mark Levinson sound system and more.
There will be 3 powertrains on offer. The base will be a 2.4L turbo 4 making 275HP and 317 lb-ft of torque. Then the TX500h F Sport Performance powertrain makes 366HP and 409 lb-ft of torque from a turbo 4 cylinder. The 500h also gets a rear steering system and Direct-4 e-AWD. Then comes the TX550h+ using a 3.5L V6, a CVT, and a battery pack to make 406HP and 33 miles of EV range.
The inside is very clean. And that’s the point of the TX, it’s a utilitarian SUV, not an off-roader or sporty SUV. Here we get a 12.3 in a cluster system, a 14in infotainment, OTA updates, WiFi hotspot and a host of safety systems.
The model will be offered in Standard, Premium, Luxury and F Sport Performance trims. Also on offer is Lexus’s massive safety suite with a host of tech features. The base and 500h will go on sale first with the PHEV coming later.
2024 Lexus TX Prices
Based on our estimates, the upcoming TX model is expected to be priced slightly higher than the RX. The RX currently ranges from $48,950 up to $64,145. The TX350 and TX500h variants are planned for release this fall, while the PHEV TX550h+ model is scheduled to be available at a later date.
