2021 Lexus IS for sale – The 2021 Lexus IS is not ALL new and instead uses a heavily re-engineered N-platform as the current IS uses, it means a stiffer and sportier ride, specifically 20% lighter springs, 18% lighter A-Arms, and 17% lighter stabilizer bars. Regardless of this and the old powertrains, the new in-person shots look great. STUNNING especially in red! Upfront are new L shaped LED lights with the L part above the headlight beams. Outback is a full-width LED light bar and a truck shape similar to the new ES though much more sporty.
The F Sport treatment is now offered only with the top engine, while the IS300 continues to offer four-cylinder RWD and V-6 AWD configurations. The Lexus IS benefits from more attractive exterior styling for 2021, but its powertrains remain the same as before and the chassis and interior are only tweaked slightly. Lexus is reorganizing the somewhat confusing lineup to go with this update: it still includes a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a 3.5-litre V-6 in two different states of tune, but the trim levels are rearranged, with the most powerful IS350 (pictured) coming standard with the F Sport package and the lower-powered IS300 models not offering that upgrade at all anymore.
2021 Lexus IS Engine
The 2021 Lexus IS engine options carry over from the 2020 model unchanged and include a 241-hp turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the IS300 and a 311-hp V-6 in the IS350. The same three engines can be found in the 2021 Lexus IS, even though the trims have been streamlined down to two. The feel and handling are improved, and acceleration is good, earning it a point each for a 7.
The 2021 Lexus IS grows by an inch in length and width over the 2020 model, but Lexus didn’t address the interior confines that limit the appeal of the IS. Synthetic leather seats with 8-way power adjustments welcome front-seat riders to earn a point, but the tight rear seats cause us to take a point away. Our Comfort rating of 5 only applies to rear-wheel-drive models.
2021 Lexus IS Interior
While not nearly as spacious or deluxe as Lexus’s flagship LS sedan, the compact IS still offers a premium experience. Power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and push-button start are all standard features while a power sunroof and leather upholstery are optional. Although changes to the cabin are minimal, a discerning eye will notice relocated cupholders, round air vents near the door panels, and an infotainment system that’s been moved closer to the edge of the dashboard. We expect the IS’s interior space to be unchanged from the cramped 2020 model, so don’t expect tons of space for family or cargo.
