Anthony Joshua is a professional Boxer and a two-timed heavyweight champion. His full names are Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, and he was born on 15th October 1989 in Watford, Hertfordshire to Yeta and Robert Joshua. His mother is a Nigerian, while his father is a Nigerian with an Irish bloodline.

Anthony Joshua attended Mayflower School, Ikenne, but relocated to the UK at 12 when his parents divorced. Moving to the UK, he attended Kings Langley Secondary School, while in grew up in Meriden Estate in Garston, Hertfordshire. While in school in the UK, he was a star in Football and Athletics and even broke the school’s Year 9 100m record within 11.6 seconds.

 He started Boxing in 2007 at the age of 18 when his cousin encouraged him to take up the sport. In 2009 and 2010, Anthony Joshua won the Haringey Box Cup. In 2010, he also won the ABA championships in his 18th bout, and he turned down an offer of 50,000 Pounds to turn professional. He later revealed that the real reason he turned down the money was to win medals and not to make money. In 2011, he won the ABA championships again, but before then in 2010, he had earned a place on the GB boxing team and in the same 2010, he became the British Amateur Champion at the GB Championships after beating Amin Isa.

In June 2011, at the European Championships, he defeated Eric Berechlin and Cathal McMonagle. In 2011 he was dubbed the Amateur Boxer of the year by the Boxing Writers Club of Great Britain when he had an amateur record of 40-3. At the World Championships in 2011, Anthony Joshua beat the Italian reigning champion Roberto Cammarelle and went on to tackle Eric Pfeifer but he was defeated by Magomedrasul, by a single point, which earned him a silver medal. Anthony Joshua proceeded to the 2012 London Olympics as a newbie on the International scene, where he fought some heavyweight Boxers who had been in the game before him. At the end of the Olympics, he went home with a Bronze medal.

Before his time at the 2012 London Olympics, Anthony Joshua was caught by the Police in 2011 for speeding and when he was searched, Herbal Cannabis was found in his sports bag. He was thereafter suspended from Great Britain’s boxing team and was sentenced to community service of one year. In 2013, Anthony Joshua was appointed as a member of the Order of the British Empire for his huge contribution to the Boxing scene in Britain.  In the same 2013, Anthony Joshua decided to become a Professional Boxer, and he made his first professional debut on the 5th of October 2013 at the O2 Arena in London, where he defeated the Italian Boxer, Emanuele Leo. Anthony Joshua is the second British boxer to win an Olympic Gold medal and a world-titled champion.

As of April 2020, Anthony Joshua was dubbed the world’s second best active heavyweight by The Ring Magazine and by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. He is a two-times unified heavyweight champion having held the IBF, WBO, IBOAND WBA (Super) from 2016 to June 2019, and December 2019. He is of Nigerian heritage, although he grew up mostly in the United Kingdom.  His cousin, Ben Ileyemi is also an unbeaten professional Boxer.

Anthony Joshua lives in London with his mother and he has a son- Joshua Bayley Prince Joshua, who was born on the 5th of October 2015. His son was given birth to Anthony Joshua’s long-time girlfriend, Nicole Osborne. It is unknown whether the two are in an official relationship because Anthony Joshua tells the media whenever he is asked that he has no time for relationships because he is solely focused on his career.

It is unclear what the split of the pay-per-view percentage will be for this bout, but Sporting Free reported the total could be 60 per cent for Joshua and 40 per cent for Usyk.

A 2021 model of this car costs $90,000 (N34, 533, 000).

The second car in his garage is a Jaguar XJR presented by Jaguar Land Rover to Anthony Joshua ahead of his fight with Wladimir Klitschko.
