Michael Ade-Ojo was born on June 14th, 1938, at Ilara-Mokin in the Ifedore local government area of Ondo state, Nigeria. He was born into the late Chief Solomon Ojo and Mrs Beatrice Ademolawe Ojo’s family.
On February 26th, 1966, Chief Michael married his first wife, Chief Mrs Elizabeth, and they had two daughters. After her death, he married his second wife in 2012, Mrs Taiwo Ade-ojo.
He attended St. Michael’s Anglican School, Ilara-Mokin. He later had his secondary education at Imade College, Owo, between 1954 and 1958. Later on, he did an 18-month course at the School of Agriculture, Akure, after which he spent a while as a laboratory technician in the Ministry of Agriculture, Moore Plantation, Ibadan, before he proceeded to study at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in September 1961.
At UNN, he studied Business Administration and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in June 1965. He attended various management development courses, including the Chief Executive’s Programme of the Lagos Business School, now Pan-Atlantic University, and IESE/LBS Seminar on Competitive Strategy and Value Creation in Barcelona, Spain.

After graduation, he worked with CFAO(which had sponsored his university education) and later moved to the Federal Inland Revenue Department. From 1967 to 1971, he was a sales representative at British Petroleum Nigeria Limited.
After ten years of graduation, he started Elizade Independent with his late wife, Chief Mrs Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo, in 1971. The company was later incorporated as Elizade Nigeria Limited in 1973, dealing with Toyota car sales and spare parts and services. Today, the company has remained successful in Nigeria’s automobile industry.
The company is now a conglomerate with subsidiaries like Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mikeade Investment Co. Ltd, and Mikeade Property Dev. Co. Ltd, Classic Motors Ltd, Elizade Autoland Nigeria, Okin Travels Ltd, Oodua Creations Ltd, and many more.
