Want to get a 2013 Hyundai Elantra? Here is all you need to know about the 2013 Hyundai Elantra: its specifications, its engine and performance, and the actual price of getting one, even with the rise of the dollar in Nigeria in 2024.

Overview of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra used to be not so good in the 1990s, but it got much better with time. Now, the 2013 Elantra is one of the best compact cars, even beating more famous ones like Honda and Toyota. People like the Elantra’s cool look, with its sleek design standing out in the small sedan category. It has a decent engine that performs well and doesn’t use too much fuel.

Inside, the Elantra has a bold design with nice materials. There’s plenty of space for passengers, although the back seat is a bit tight on headroom. The trunk is big, though. The Elantra comes with lots of standard features and some unexpected extras like heated seats and keyless entry.

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra sedan comes in two trims: GLS and Limited. The GLS includes 16-inch steel wheels, heated mirrors, full power features, an adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, trip computer, and a six-speaker sound system with CD player, a satellite radio, an auxiliary jack, and iPod/USB interface. You can add the Preferred package (for automatic transmission) to the GLS, which gives 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, an upgraded interior, heated front seats, sliding front centre armrest, illuminated vanity mirrors, steering wheel audio controls, and Bluetooth. Auto-dimming rearview mirror is optional.

The Limited trim has everything from GLS Preferred plus 17-inch alloy wheels, sunroof, leather seats, power driver seat, and heated front and rear seats. The Technology package adds more features like automatic headlights, keyless entry/start, rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, upgraded sound system, Bluetooth streaming, and touchscreen navigation with voice control and real-time traffic updates.

2013 Hyundai Elantra Engine and Performance

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra has front-wheel drive and a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine. In most states, it produces 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque, but in California-emissions states, it’s slightly lower. You can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Driving the 2013 Hyundai Elantra is decent, but not super thrilling. The engine is good for everyday driving, and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The cabin is pretty quiet, but you can still hear some road and engine noise. However, the Elantra’s balance between comfort and handling is still one of the best in its class.

2013 Hyundai Elantra Fuel Efficiency

The Hyundai Elantra boasts impressive fuel efficiency with EPA estimates of 29 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined for both manual and automatic transmissions. However, real-world driving experiences indicate that achieving the highway rating might be challenging. Despite this, Elantra’s fuel economy remains competitive in its class, offering a balance between performance and efficiency.

The Elantra’s interior has a curved centre stack and stylish climate controls, adding a touch of flair while remaining user-friendly. The design is appealing, and though the materials aren’t top-tier, they still look luxurious. With optional features like leather seats, heated front and rear seats, a great navigation system, and a rearview camera, you can even deck out an Elantra to feel like a luxury car. Overall, the Elantra offers more space than you might expect from a compact car. There’s plenty of headroom for tall drivers up front, and the slightly smaller steering wheel adds to the feeling of spaciousness. While the backseat is suitable for kids and most adults, taller passengers might find the ample legroom and limited headroom a bit of a trade-off. The Elantra sedan also boasts a large trunk with 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space, which is generous for its class. Additionally, the 60/40-split pass-through adds to its practicality.

2013 Hyundai Elantra Safety

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra comes with standard safety features like traction and stability control, antilock brakes, active front head restraints, and front seat side-impact airbags, along with side curtain airbags.

The Hyundai Elantra 2013 is a highly popular and reliable vehicle in Nigeria, known for its exceptional performance, fuel efficiency, and sleek design. As of 2025, the starting price for a used Hyundai Elantra 2013 starts from NGN6,000,000.00. However, actual prices may vary based on factors such as location, dealership offers, and the car’s condition.

Tokunbo or Nigeria used Hyundai Elantra 2013 price starts from NGN6,000,000.00 to NGN13,500,000.00 in Nigeria

Conclusion

With its sleek design, spacious interior, and impressive fuel efficiency, the 2013 Hyundai Elantra offers a compelling package for buyers. Whether you’re interested in its stylish appearance, comfortable ride, or advanced technology features, the Elantra will surely deliver.
