It is no longer news that the automobile industry in Nigeria is experiencing severe hard times. The industry is currently fraught with dwindling fortune and several other issues that prevent it from standing out like its counterparts in other countries.

To find a way to curb this issue, relevant Federal Government agencies and chief executive officers in the automobile sector have agreed to converge in Abuja on Thursday, 4th August, to work out an immediate workable solution for the situation.

This discussion, slated to hold on Thursday, focuses on the maiden edition of the annual Nigeria Auto CEOs Forum.

This forum will serve as a platform for only CEOs of automobile companies that reside in the country to interact with agencies whose activities directly or indirectly affect the smooth running of automobile business in the nation.

Top companies in the country like Toyota Nigeria Limited, Lanre Shittu Motors, Stallion Motors, Jet Systems, PAN Nigeria, CFAO Motors, Honda Manufacturing, Kia, Nord, and GAC have thrown their weight behind the event.

With the same energy, relevant government agencies like the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, National Automotive Design and Development Council, Nigeria Customs Service, and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have also indicated an interest in participating.

The event is being put together by GSCL Transport Media group and backed by seasoned auto journalists like Motoring Editor of Vanguard, Theodore Opara; Editor of Transport Day, Frank Kintum; Publisher of Transport World, Mike Ochonma and publisher of News Trends, Rasheed Bisiriyu.
