The first thing you want to consider when buying a car is options. There are more than enough brands and models for you to run through. The second is your budget. We bet you, like many others out there, want to cut your cloth according to your coat. No matter what, there is always a car that fits your budget whether you are paying in full or in instalments. If you are looking for brand new cars under R200 000 in South Africa, here are some models for you to look at.

It is common knowledge that Bakkies are quite expensive in South Africa but a Nissan P200 8V base is a good one to spend your money on. Of the many Bakkies available, there are a few things that make this car stand out among the rest. Nissan is a popular brand with a good reputation and with this particular model, you get good value for your money.  It has a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a maximum power of 65kW and 128Nm of torque. This car is somewhat retro in its make. It has no air conditioning system and no radio. It does have a fan system though.

Renault Kwid Climber Auto (R193,900)

This Sedan is one of the best in its range. It has a separate boot large enough to carry up to 420liter of cargo. You’d be mistaken, however, if you think this car is just for carriage purposes. It is well designed to fit anywhere. A modern interior with fabric seats, a multi-functioning steering wheel and a Bluetooth-supported radio system definitely doesn’t sound bad. The engine generates a maximum power of 66Kw and 110Nm of torque connected to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Go+ Lux has a 1.2-litre petrol engine that drives the front wheel through a 5-speed manual transmission. It also has 104Nm of torque.
