In the past, Ferrari said it’d never build an SUV car since it had its roots in sportscars and that it’ll be the direction the company will continue to take. But, it looks like the company has gone against their words and has an SUV ready to be introduced into the market.
The long-rumoured Ferrari SUV is the 2023 Purosangue that is now finally here.
However, Ferrari is still claiming that the car is not an SUV nor a crossover but that the Purosangue is a sports car. The looks of this car say otherwise, and it’s as though Ferrari is not yet ready to admit that they’ve built an SUV-like car.
The car comes with a glorious 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 that revs to 8250rpm and makes 715hp (533kW) and 716Nm.
It’s a good engine for a 3.3-second 0-100km/h sprint, thanks to its eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. It’ll also hit a top speed of 310km/h (193mph).
The car’s features come with a sports car-ish build, but the looks say otherwise.
The first four-door, four-seater car ever to wear the prancing horse, the Purosangue effectively serves as the replacement for the GTC4Lusso shooting brake.
The Insides Of The Purosangue
The car has a rear-hinged suicide door, which will make getting into the back of it more accessible.
There are two bucket seats for the first and second row of occupants, which further drives the “sports car” point home.
The car’s cabin is driver-focused up front as there’s no central infotainment display.
Instead, you’ll find screens surrounding the tachometer ahead of the driver and a larger display mounted directly ahead of the front passenger.
Even though Ferrari is not calling it an SUV, it does offer an SUV-like 473 litres of cargo space in the trunk.
It has 22-inch wheels in front and 23-inch wheels in the rear.
2023 Ferrari Purosangue Price
The car will start selling in Italy, and the price in Italy is ₦238,2000,00 ($397,000) with the current exchange rate.
Deliveries will start in Europe, and the initial deliveries are slated for June 2023, with the USA following shortly.
Ferrari also claims that only 3,000 units of this car will be made yearly.
