The emergency numbers of the Lagos State Fire Service are available to be dialled free of charge. These numbers are designed to provide 24-hour emergency response services to the residents and visitors of the state. The service was established in 1972 under the Law Cap.42 of Lagos State.
The Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently rehabilitated 14 fire stations. It also acquired 62 fire apparatus, which are fire engines and pickup trucks, for fighting and extinguishing fires.
The State Fire and Rescue Service is a multi-functional organization that operates from 16 fire stations located in various parts of the state. It has over 600 operational staff members, including non-uniformed staff.
