Keeping up with regular maintenance for your Honda CRV is an essential part of keeping your car running smoothly and efficiently. One of the most important aspects of routine maintenance is changing your oil at regular intervals.

Once you change your oil, you need to reset the oil life indicator to ensure that you have accurate information about when your next oil change is due. In this article, we will take a look at how you can reset the oil life indicator of your 2007-2012 Honda CRV after an oil change.

Steps For Resetting The Oil Life Indicator Of Your 2007 – 2012 Honda CRV

Follow the steps below to reset the oil life indicator of your 2007 – 2012 Honda CRV after an oil change:

  • Step 1: Turn On The Ignition

The ignition must be turned on initially, but the engine must not be started. By doing this, you will have access to the car’s systems without having to start it.

  • Step 2: Access The Menu

Access the menu by pressing the buttons on the steering wheel. The buttons or actions required to access the menu may differ depending on the year and model of your Honda CRV. In case it’s required, consult your owner’s guide.

  • Step 3: Select “b- Oil Life”

Once you are in the menu, use the buttons on your steering wheel to select “b- Oil Life.” This will bring up the oil life percentage on your dashboard.

  • Step 4: Hold the “Enter” Button

The “Enter” button on the steering wheel should be pressed and held down until the oil life % begins to blink. This will signal that the oil life indicator is currently being reset.

  • Step 5: Reset The Oil Life

Release the “Enter” button when the oil life percentage has begun to flicker, and then press and hold it down for an extra 10 seconds. The oil life indicator will be reset as a result, and the percentage should now be “100%.”

  • Step 6: Turn Off The Ignition

Start the engine after the oil life indicator has been reset, and then turn off the ignition to make sure everything is operating as it should.

Conclusion

You can easily reset the oil life indicator on your 2007–2012 Honda CR-V by following a few simple steps. You may make sure that your oil life indicator gives you an accurate indication of when your next oil change is necessary by taking the steps listed in this article.

Always bear in mind that frequent oil changes are necessary to keep your Honda CRV operating smoothly and effectively for many years to come.
