These are some of the permits the man listed in the circulated video. The video has since drawn a lot of attention, and here are some of the reactions from people:

“Things are really hard in Nigeria! This is for commercial and personal I suppose? How will one survive! God have mercy! So unnecessary “

“And no good roads permits Dey cry the guy voice be like who won cry”

“So sad to watch. Shameless government”

“Until you own a dispatch bike or commercial vehicle you won’t understand this problem”

“There’s nothing like living in a country with a working system, everything is so easy and simple. Even with all these he will still be asked to pay bribe PO get plenty work to do in 8yrs. He should stay 12yrs sef if it’s up to me but i be 1 person.”

“All these papers have been banned/scrapped since 2010. But local government and council boys keep printing and selling them out. They also carry our enforcement and charge fines to people and vehicles without them. There’s a letter from the ministry of transportation and a letter signed by the ministry of Justice rendering those papers useless. All my riders now have a copy of that letter alongside the vehicle papers which is originally rehired by Vio. Once you have that letter show it to the touts on the road. You’ll be free. The extortion is out of this world. If they act stubborn and threaten to take your bike/van/bus to their office ask them to do so. You’ll find out they are carrying out an illegal duty. They are not backed by the state. I’m December we carried out a raid and most of those touts carrying out the enforcement were locked up for days.”

“Damn this is sad to watch cos this is one of the reasons it’s hard to start a small scale business because of unnecessary extortion from different agencies and government touts 😢”

“Flood and erosion control 😂😂😂😂”

“Yet the people suffering all this still supporting APC and PDP.”

In Nigeria, vehicles must have valid permits in order to operate on public roads. These permits are issued by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and are required for cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles, and other types of vehicles.

The process for obtaining a vehicle permit typically involves submitting an application, providing proof of ownership and insurance, and passing a vehicle inspection.

Permits are typically renewed on an annual basis.

Type of vehicle Permits in Nigeria

There are several types of vehicle permits in Nigeria, including:

  • Roadworthiness permit: also known as a “fitness certificate,” this permit certifies that a vehicle is in safe working condition and meets the necessary road safety standards.
  • Vehicle license: also known as a “number plate,” this permit is required for all vehicles operating on public roads and serves as identification for the vehicle.
  • Third Party Insurance: This is a form of insurance that covers the cost of damages to other vehicles or property in case of an accident involving the insured vehicle.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required to operate a vehicle on Nigerian roads.
  • Special Permit: This permit is required for vehicles that are not regularly used on Nigerian roads, such as trailers, heavy-duty trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
  • Route Permit: This permit is required for commercial vehicles that operate on specific routes.

All these permits are issued by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC)
Note that the requirements for obtaining and renewing these permits may vary depending on the type of vehicle and the location in which it is registered.
