Over the week the dollar which custom services used in the most clearing of goods and services including automobiles, most prospects rejoice that prices of things especially cars will decrease but we are not seeing that yet.
Prices of automobiles have maintained their original price, especially the popular brands like Toyota, Lexus, Honda and Mercedes Benz, we saw a slight price decrease in brands like Hyundai and Kia but not in above mentioned brands, this also raised questions on why the prices not going down as it supposed to since the only thing affecting is already down.
Although, Carmart earlier reported that The president of the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON), Prince Akinola Adedoyin, mentioned that it will be a while before the prices of imported used vehicles decrease. He explained that because it takes months to import vehicles, dealers need to first sell their existing stock, which they bought when the dollar rate was high before they can import new stock that will be sold at lower prices.
According to Carmart, between May last year and last month, the cost of Tokunbo cars surged by over 100 per cent due to the naira’s weakness against the dollar, making fairly used vehicles unaffordable for many potential buyers.
The 2023 Toyota Corolla has a new Underground and Midnight Black Metallic, which replaces Black Sand Pearl. Other exterior colours that’ll be coming with the 2023 car are; White, Classic Silver Metallic, Celestite, and Blueprint. Toyota will also make Wind Chill Pearl and Ruby Flare Pearl available, but they’ll come at an extra cost.
Going by the 2023 Toyota Corolla’s features, the car has undoubtedly been made to meet a next-generation standard. What this means is that there’s going to be a lot of difference from the 2022 model.
Early this year the price of the 2023 Toyota Corolla was within 25 million naira while at the moment of this article and according to DaggashAutos, a Foreign Used Toyota Corolla 1.6 2023 Model With Original Duty Going For 29 million naira in Abuja while a brand new model is ₦46 million.
