Mercedes-Maybach S 580 e marks the start of a new era for the brand. The vehicle is the first-ever plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Maybach ever created. It announces the arrival of a fully-electric model that the Mercedes-Maybach S-class will welcome in the near future.
This plug-in hybrid Maybach S 580 has a smaller engine and is quieter than its gas-powered version. The vehicle is no slouch, as it combines a six-cylinder engine with a small electric motor.
The vehicle still delivers the same mind-blowing performance figures courtesy of its highly-efficient 510-horsepower engine.
This new Mercedes-Maybach S-class can now be driven in a fully-electric mode for up to 62 miles. This means you can rely entirely on the car’s electric motor for short trips without ever using the six-cylinder unit.
From the outside, nothing much has changed about the vehicle. With it, you still get an incredibly long list of paint options, including two-tone and the iconic Maybach “dish” wheels.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find plenty of room for all four occupants and the latest tech and luxury features. From the rear-cabin refrigerator with champagne flutes to automatic doors, the Maybach has it.

The new plug-in hybrid Maybach will release in China and Thailand before it gradually gets to other countries.
Mercedes is yet to reveal a price for the new vehicle, but most car experts believe that the price will start at around $200,000.
Many states that the reason is that the new model will likely be cheaper than its V12 gas-powered version but still more expensive than the mild hybrid V8 option. The starting price for the twin-turbo V12 S 680 is $229,000, and the mild hybrid S 580 starts at $184,900.
