Yesterday, on Sunday, August 25th, 2024, there was a groundbreaking event as Polanco Exotic Cars, an automobile dealer, received the delivery of the 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider at their Lagos showroom.
Car dealers in Nigeria were amazed by this delivery, stating that the Ferrari SF90 is not just a special ride, but it is rare to spot in Nigeria or anywhere in Africa. This comes after Wizkid purchased the first-ever Ferrari SF90 Spider, which arrived in Nigeria a few months earlier.
The Italian sports car icon Ferrari isn’t the first brand that comes to mind when thinking about plug-in hybrid powertrains, but the 2022 SF90 Stradale and Spider models offer an electrified setup with 986 horsepower. When it was tested at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it recorded a zero-to-60-mph time of just 2.0 seconds, which makes it officially the quickest car to 60 mph.
After the car arrived, Manga_Automobiles, a popular car dealer based in Abuja, commented, “With this car, we beat Ghanaians because in West Africa, Ghanaians usually lead in terms of supercars. But now… there, mama.” Automobil Poacher added, “Second Ferrari SF90 in Nigeria, Polanco de Para,” and the Cotonou/Abuja-based car dealer even promised ₦50,000 to anyone who could guess the price correctly.
The 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider is priced at $824,895. However, when it arrives in Nigeria and duties are paid, including shipment, the 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider may cost over 1.5 billion naira. There are rumours that Wizkid purchased his own for 1.4 billion naira.
