On Monday 6th June 2022, a Jos Upper Area Court ruled that Isaiah Nuhu will be sentenced for a period of 12 months for breaking into a car and stealing a car stereo. The presiding judges were Ghazali Adam and Hyacinth Dolnanan, who handed down the sentence after the convict already pleaded guilty to burglary, and theft and begged for leniency.
The convict was given an option of 30,000 thousand Naira or 12 months in prison.
The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Monday Dabit told the court earlier that the case was reported at the Anglo Jos Police station, on May, 12 by the complainant, Mancha Dido.
According to the complainant, the stereo is worth 40,000 thousand Naira.
The inspector noted that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 313 and 237 of the Plateau Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
