On November 15, over 20 governors and other party leaders who were elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) reached Jos Airport. They were there to support the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Shettima. According to the Punch, the governors and other VIPs were at the Rawang Pam Stadium for the campaign launch of the party.
According to the data released by the aviation authority, over 95 corporate and private jets were accommodated at the Yakubu Gowon International Airport in Jos during the campaign period for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state. Some of the prominent individuals who were flown in included the governor of the state, the Minister of Aviation, and other government officials.
Some of the private planes that landed at the airport included a Canadian-made aircraft known as the Challenger 601, a Hawker Siddeley HS 125, a Learjet 45, and Trobell’s 5-N-ALG.
Some of the aircraft that are commonly used by West Link include the Challenger 601 and the United Aviation HS125. Other models include the HS125 of Global Aviation and the HS125 of Gyro Air.
Some of the other aircraft that were commonly used by West Link include Triaxell’s G-Class and Nest Oil’s G-Class. Also, some of the aircraft that were accommodated at the airport included the Learjet 45 of Mounthill Aviation and the Challenger 600 of IZY Air. The aircraft that was owned by the company, which is known as Dornier Aviation, included the B190 and the D328.
Some of the regional aircraft that landed at the airport include the Max Air E135, Air Peace E145, Jet Support E135, and Aero Tak’s E135.
Some of the other aircraft that were commonly used by West Link includes the E145 of Jet Support and the KS R3 Global’s E145. Other models that were commonly used at the airport included the Challenger CRJ9 of ValueJet and the Max Air’s 737. The report also mentioned that other companies such as Azman Air and Arik Air had their own aircraft that was registered with the 5N-AIS, 5N-BKW, and 5N-BZN.
Besides the presidential fleet, which includes a couple of chartered aircraft and private jets, the president’s office also used a number of military helicopters and aircraft. These include a Boeing 737 and a helicopter made by the Pakistan Air Force.
It was also gathered that the Jos airport did not have enough parking space for the large number of aircraft that were brought to the facility. Due to the lack of space, some of the planes had to park in Abuja, which is about 30 minutes away from the airport.
