Newly elected governor of Abia State Alex Otti, has launched ‘operation crush’, a joint task force of police, army, navy and other relevant security agencies. Otti stated this, yesterday, at the official launch of the state’s security outfit named, ‘Operation Crush’ and the unveiling of 20 Hilux patrol vans donated by the administration to security agencies in the state.

He expressed worry over the rising cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, car-snatching, and other crimes in the state, appealing to the security agencies to make judicious use of the vans.

“We shall no longer share an inch with the criminals. The joint security task force that makes up the operation crush is expected to dislodge criminals from their hideouts,” he said.

Today, we formally launched a special security operation codenamed “Operation Crush” in response to our state’s security challenges. I had promised zero tolerance for criminality in Abia, and today marks the realization of that commitment.

“Operation Crush” is a joint task force composed of various security formations. Our primary objective is to swiftly address threats, specifically targeting areas like Umunneochi, Isuikwuato LGAs, as well as Umuahia, Aba, and Ohafia. To criminals and their cohorts, Abia State will no longer be your safe haven.

I urge our citizens to support this operation with actionable intelligence. Landlords, market leaders, and community heads must not harbour criminals. To the youths of Abia, our administration is committed to creating legitimate opportunities for you. We are also collaborating with the federal government to ensure that our security personnel’s well-being is prioritized.

To everyone who seeks progress in Abia, we are here for you. God bless you all.

Some took to the comment section to ask why he ignored Local made vehicles like Innoson and Nord, @Detruthx, “Local vehicle manufactures like Innoson and Nord need patronage and Alex otti went to straight to buy hundreds of Toyota. He even used Innoson for his hand over oo Alex otti make it make sense”

@CyndiGold2 · Your Excellency Sir, we the OBIdients will praise you when you’re doing well, but on this particular one with due respect Sir, why Toyota? Why didn’t you order from @innosonvehicles or other indigenous Companies to grow Nigeria? Sir, it’s No No for Us! You started with INNOSON

I believe Toyota probably supplied these vehicles at a very give away prices as their own business marketing strategy.
People managing Toyota sales are Nigerians and definitely know Alex Otti’s govt as pro domestic manufacturing
