The most obvious change from the Codalunga – which means longtail in Italian- – is its rear end.
The company states that its long sweeping lines leading to a pair of tail fins are inspired by the Le Man’s racers of the 1960s.
From all sides, the Huayra Codalunga looks absolutely stunning.
An interesting fact about this car is that it came out of the request from two Pagani customers. As a visionary, the founder, Horacio Pagani was more than willing to oblige.
Created through the Pagani Grandi Complicazioni division that handles special builds, it took two years for the design to be finalized.
For the Huayra Codalunga, two prototypes were created – one full-size, and one in 1:4 scale.
Despite the finished product being 360mm longer than the standard Pagani Huayra, it’s actually 68kg (150lb) lighter.
The power on its twin-turbo V12 engine is 840hp.
The interior of the hypercar is another part that everyone who comes in contact with will gush over. It features matte aluminium surfaces and two-tone woven brown leather.
In the words of the company’s founder, it was chosen to “evoke the shades of the past and to bring out the simplicity of the car’s design.”
Although the brand only has 5 examples of the Codalunga to be made, all of them are already committed by buyers despite the huge price of $7.3 million. Regardless, for a car that’s all shades of beauty and performance like this one, Pagani really achieved its aim because rich people won’t waste a second throwing around money to own this car.
