Aside from popular brands like the Toyota Corolla, Camry, Honda Accord, Civic, and many other sedans available in the Nigerian market, there are also other sedan cars that have captured the attention of many car lovers in Nigeria. The Hyundai Elantra, a product of the Korean automaker is one such vehicle.

In this article, we review some of the interesting features of the 2021 Hyundai Elantra, and why you should consider purchasing the vehicle if you’re in the market either for a new model or Tokunbo-used version.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra comes with  Lots of Interesting Features

The Hyundai Elantra was completely redesigned for the 2021 model year, which meant that in addition to sharper styling inside and out, it also received a lot of standard features to complement the update.

Some of the most notable features include a revised 2.0-liter engine that pushes out 147 hp and can achieve an EPA-estimated 33 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility, and a host of driver-assist features.

There are currently four different trim levels to choose from; SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited. All trim levels come with the aforementioned 2.0-liter engine, however, the sportier Elantra N Line is outfitted with a more potent turbocharged 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque in addition to a tighter suspension and larger wheels.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra Even Comes With a Manual Transmission OG Car Lovers Will Appreciate

The good news is that if you opt for the Hyundai Elantra N Line, you’ll get a six-speed manual transmission as the standard gear selector, but a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is available as well.

To complement that sporty feel of shifting your own gears, the Elantra N Line is also equipped with an independent rear suspension, larger front brake rotors, stiffer engine mounts, and some revised chassis tuning to bring it all together.

According to Car and Driver’s testing, what all of those “go-fast goodies” equate to is a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 14.5 seconds. For comparison’s sake, Car and Driver was able to get the Honda Civic Si down the quarter-mile track in 14.8 seconds and from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. So it’s safe to say that the Hyundai Elantra N Line can keep up with the sport compact sedan pack just fine.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra Comes With Good Fuel Economy

The Hyundai Elantra 2021 comes with good fuel economy. However, the Elantra N Line trim level has the best fuel economy in the mix. Fortunately, the Elantra N Line is able to achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.

If you are the type that prefers two pedals instead of three, then you’ll be happier to fill up the seven-speed DCT model, which can achieve an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. That’s some pretty good mileage considering it’s a performance-oriented sedan.
