We thought the Land Cruiser was gone forever, mainly because Toyota has maintained the same design and body shape for a long time. The off-road champ is back. It shares a platform with the recently redesigned Lexus GX and wears a similarly boxy look, but the Cruiser is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, making 326 horsepower.
Toyota by CFAO, an authorised distributor of all Toyota vehicle models in Nigeria, has officially launched the all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) into the Nigerian market.
The impressive unveiling, witnessed by top public and private sector stakeholders, including our own Ola of Lagos and Supercars of Nigeria, took place on Friday, July 19, at the magnificent Toyota by CFAO showroom on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to Toyota, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is renowned for its on-road and off-road capabilities. It is one of the best-selling Toyota models in the world, with over 11.3 million units sold in more than 170 countries.
What to look out for when buying a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
The new Land Cruiser may still maintain its position as the best-selling SUV in Nigeria with its new design including its new body shape, but that strategy also leaves the full-size SUV market open for the Toyota Sequoia. Inside, the Land Cruiser offers seating for five across two rows and offers the requisite infotainment technology to keep modern buyers happy. Toyota even equips it with advanced driver-assistance features since, for most Land Cruiser owners, this truck will serve as both a weekend toy and a weekday commuter.
When it’s time to hit the trail, the Land Cruiser has the equipment to tackle the rough stuff, including a four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing and locking differentials.
The most affordable 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Trims to buy?
There are two less expensive models, the 165 million naira Land Cruiser 1958 trim and the 170 million naira Land Cruiser trim, the most expensive is the Land Cruiser First Edition trim priced at 180 to 190 million naira, which not be available for purchase yet in Nigeria. There’s likely to be a rush on the first units of these trims too, but it may not last forever, as Toyota is aiming to build a far higher number of this iteration of the Land Cruiser than it has in the past.
