Lamborghini is about to launch a massive urus facelift though before even doing so, the brand took the updated super SUV up the Pikes Peak hill climb and recorded a 10min 32.06 second run; the fastest SUV up the hill. It’s so fast, that it beat the Bentley Bentayga by an insane 17seconds.
When it comes to production SUVs racing up Pikes Peak, here is the new king of the mountain. It’s the supercar-bred Lamborghini Urus that recently posted a 10:32.064 time. That’s almost 18 seconds quicker than the 2018 Bentley Bentayga that previously held the production-SUV record with a time of 10:49.902. While the Lambo didn’t compete in the official event that was held at the end of June, its time was recorded by Pikes Peak’s official timekeepers.
The Porsche GT developed a 4.0L TT V8 641HP and 627 lb-ft of torque! This boost helps the Urus hit 60MPH in around 3.3sec with a 193MPH TopSpeed. A hybrid Urus is set to come within the next few years with over 700HP!
This updated Urus is still wrapped in camo and could bear the Urus EVO name. Though we may see multiple versions of the Urus now as a PHEV powertrain is coming. From this example, we can clearly see hood vents and some revised styling hiding under the camouflage. The grill area loses the hexagonal trim piece and weird side trim in the air vents. The rear gets repositioned bits and what appears to be a new diffuser as well.
